Hello, Darlings! So I’m gonna be sharing my lifelong experience with Madewell before working there and after working there! I discovered the brand Madewell as I was researching stores with free shipping. Plus my friend had mentioned the brand before. In addition, I had seen the brand in Nordstrom too. So this is what inspired me to try it out!

About Madewell
Madewell is a J.Crew company. They are focused on created good denim jeans. From my opinion most of their tops are designed to look food with jeans. The color palette is pretty neutral. You wouldn’t see them do a neon pink color from what I have observed. Accessories are also sold by Madewell and they offer nice shoes, jewelry, and belts.
The price range of Madewell is premium tier. I have seen customer spent an average of $300 when shopping in stores. The most expensive items I have seen are their leather jackets which are around $500. Personally, I have never spent above $100 at Madewell because I’m more of a price concious shopper. And I have seen online shoppers spend around $150 on average. So how much you spend at Madewell varies on what you buy and when you buy.
Madewell Stores
The first time I visited a Madewell was at Prudential Center Boston in 2019 when I was staying in the area for a DECA competition. (Fun Fact I worked there later on once when they were low on staff) I didn’t buy anything at the time when I visited this location.
My second time visiting a Madewell was in Austin at The Domain. And I had checked out this store’s pick up in stores stock online so when I went into the store with an idea of what I wanted to buy. The store was having a sale and my item was on clearance so I got a really amazing deal!
I got a 30% markdown plus there was a extra 40% off sale so I paid less than $15 for this top.

What jeans should I buy from Madewell?
Madewell has so many jeans to pick from so it can be overwhelming to know what to pick. I recommend going into a store and trying them on to understand what style and fit you like. Jean styles are a personal choice so there is no right or wrong when it comes to picking jeans. Madewell does not sell a skinny jean from what I have seen. They mostly sell high rise jeans and straights, wide-legs from my observations.
Personally, I learned that I don’t like low-rise jeans. I felt uncomfortable wearing them and while some people might love them they were just not for me. My first pair of Madewell jeans is a baggy 90’s straight. They might not sell a baggy version all the time but they do sell a 90s straight. I also like wearing the kick-out jeans. There are two things I was surprised with Madewell jeans. First, I discovered that I actually liked wearing Madewell wide leg jeans. They looked good on me proportionally without looking too baggy. I own these in the perfect vintage. And I discovered that I liked petite jeans. I’m 5’4″ so I’m on the border of petite and regular. So for some styles petite feels nice.
