My Kitsch review is something that makes me wonder, why didn’t I write this earlier! I came across Kitsch a long time ago while searching for better hair solutions as someone who looks for clean beauty products and effective beauty products that truly work. Kitsch is a brand I fell in love with because their products are more than just shampoo and conditioner, but everyday products. Plus, they’re a women-owned business, which is totally spectacular to cheer on! Another reason I love Kitsch is its focus on sustainability. In this blog post, I will do my Kitsch review of products I love and some that aren’t as likable. And if there are products you want me to review, then let me know by leaving a comment on my Instagram! I do have plans to review some more Kitsch products that I’m still trying, so stay subscribed for these updates.

Kitsch Pillowcase

I’ve been using the Kitsch satin pillowcases since 2022; before this I used a satin pillowcase on Amazon for a few years. One of the reasons I switched over to the Kitsch pillowcase was because it’s a blush pink color, which matched my pink comforter. Overall, I love these pillowcases, and I bought another one recently so I have an extra when doing laundry. These are super comfortable to sleep on, and you honestly just have to feel it to know the difference over a traditional pillow case. My pillowcase is the standard size, as I sleep on a queen bed. As someone who loves taking naps, why not make your bed more comfy! 🥰
Pros
- Great for preventing frizzy hair
- Great for your skin as they prevent friction, moisture loss from skincare products, and prevent face creases
- Comes with a Zipper Closure
- Super soft and smooth
- More affordable than a silk pillowcase
- Comes in lots of colors and sometimes collaboration designs like Disney and Bridgerton
Recommendation: A bedtime swap that is spectacular for people with frizzy hair.
If less frizz mornings sound nice, grab this Satin Pillowcase on Kitsch’s site and get this 15% discount before checkout.
Prefer Amazon Prime shipping? You can also find the Kitsch Satin Pillowcase Amazon. 🛍️
Would I Repurchase? Yes! And I already have!
Cons:
- Higher priced than some alternatives (but I have a discount code for Kitsch 😉)
- They don’t sell these in pairs, so if you share a king or queen, you will probably want two to match
Are Kitsch pillowcases durable and worth the investment?
Yes! These pillowcases are durable. I recommend handwashing them every two weeks with a gentle detergent. But if hand-washing isn’t your thing, it’s not the end of the world to use a washing machine.
Kitsch Hair Towel – Microfibers

Microfiber towels are great for drying your hair after a shower. These towels are a lot more gentle than a traditional bath towel. And it’s nice to have a dedicated towel just for your hair. There is a microfiber towel I have from Earth Therapeutics, which I used to use, but I prefer the Kitsch over Earth Therapeutics. The Kitsch hair towel looks better, is softer, and more comfortable to wear. I’m someone who will try anything to beat frizzy hair so this was a great product to switch from my bulky bath towels.
Pros:
- Comes in fun prints
- Gentle on hair and can prevent frizz
- Easy to fit hair into a towel and secure
- Comfortable to wear
- Soaks up excess water well
- Travel-friendly, as it doesn’t take up a ton of space
Recommendation: A shower swap for people with frizzy hair.
If you’re upgrading your post-shower routine, this Kitsch hair towel is worth using this 15% code on directly through Kitsch. Or shop with Amazon Prime if you need the hair towel quickly. 🛍️
Would I Repurchase? Yes! And I already have!
Cons:
- Generally not recommended to wear for long durations, it’s best to blow dry after 5-10 minutes
Kitsch Shampoo and Conditioner bars
When Kitsch first came out with their shampoo and conditioner bars, I got to try out the Nourishing Shampoo bar and Nourishing Conditioner Bar back in 2021, which seems to be discontinued. They redid their shampoo and conditioner bars, so now they changed the shape, plus they focused on ingredient benefits based on hair concerns. These shampoo and conditioner bars are a huge win for sustainability and clean beauty.

Pros:
- TSA Friendly! No more worrying about the liquids rule when you travel
- Super sustainable! There’s no plastic packaging that holds the product like your traditional shampoos and conditioners
- You can distinguish the bars with a bar saver bag sold by Kitsch
- Great value for money, as one bar can last 100 washes
- Clean beauty that is paraben, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, and artificial fragrance free
- Bar saver bags make it easy for you to save smaller bar pieces
Recommendation: A great choice for people looking to make their haircare routine more sustainable.
Would I Repurchase? Maybe, I’m still trying to figure out which ones I would like more.
Cons:
- If you hate using bar soap over body wash, you probably won’t enjoy using a shampoo bar
- You need to wait for the bar to drain or pat it dry after use for travel storage
- Bar saver bars need to be purchased separately
When it comes to clean beauty, we usually talk about skincare, but clean beauty is not only for skin but for your hair, too! Sustainability is the best part of these shampoo and conditioner bars. I have heard 1 bar is supposed to last 100 washes, which is estimated to be saving 2 bottles of product. I thought that was pretty amazing because not only will you be saving money, but you will also be buying less product.
I thought these bars would be hard to use, but they’re not that bad once you get used to them. The shampoo bar is definitely easier to use than the conditioner bar. But at the end of the day, I prefer liquid shampoo over these, mostly because I like the texture of liquid shampoo.
If you’re curious about switching to shampoo bars, I’d recommend ordering through Kitsch so you can apply a 15% discount. They’re also available on Amazon if that’s easier for you. 🛍️
Are shampoo bars better than liquid?
Shampoo bars can be better than liquid shampoo for sustainability and cost, but performance depends on your hair type and the product formulation from the brand. Most people prefer liquid over bar, because this is what we are used to using over all these years. Switching to a bar shampoo is definitely a bit of a learning curve, but worth it if you are able to find a shampoo that works for you and you’re committed to sustainable swaps.
How to use Kitsch Shampoo Bar?

Wet the shampoo bar in running shower water. Then scrub it between your hands to emulsify. Use the bubbles from the soap to wash your hair. Or use the bar to paint the product over your hair. Make sure you rinse your hair well when done.
Kitsch Rice Water Shampoo Bar
It’s nice that it uses rice water, because I have never used this ingredient from any brand. From what I have heard, a lot of Asian cultures use rice water for hair. Rice water contains protein, so if you are already using a strengthening mask or bond repair products, you may be adding too much protein to your hair. My hair isn’t thin, fine, and damaged, so I can’t speak to the changes in my hair from that perspective. In terms of increasing hair volume, I don’t see a huge difference.
Overall, I think the Rice Water Shampoo bar is fine, but it’s not my favorite shampoo. The reason is my hair looks good after washing, but I have needed to wash it more often, because the wash doesn’t last as long. However, this may be the effect of my recently using a prescription anti-dandruff shampoo. So I think I will retry this product after a while, once I get my hair to adjust from the anti-dandruff shampoo. But I think this is a great, affordable option for clean beauty. And I’m interested in trying their other shampoo bars that are better suited for my hair. I might try the Castor Oil and the Tea Tree one I already own but have yet to try, so stay tuned!
Kitsch Claw Clip

I use these claw clips every single day when I head to the shower, or when I’m having a bad hair day! I own three of these, and my oldest gold Kitsch claw clip had the color wear off overtime. However, my newest gold clip still looks great, and I haven’t had any practical issues with my older gold claw clip. If you are worried about the color fading overtime then stick with the black ones. But maybe I should paint my old claw clip with a new color? 🤔
These claw clips are great for long hair because they’re big and they can grab everything. These are also recommended to use when you are using heatless hair curlers. I mostly love how these are made of metal, because they are a lot more secure than any plastic claw clip I have used. I actually own three of these, because sometimes I leave a clip somewhere in the house and forget where I put it. So if you have thick hair, then I recommend you try out these claw clips. They’re the best metal claw clip for thick hair that I’ve personally tried.
Pros
- Made of metal
- Big enough to hold a lot of hair
Recommendation: I recommend this for people with thick hair or long hair.
If you have thick or long hair and need a strong hold, this is one I’d definitely grab the claw clips using this 15% discount on Kitsch. You can also find it on Amazon if you prefer Prime delivery. 🛍️
Would I Repurchase? Yes! And I already have!
Cons:
- The gold claw clip had color fading overtime, but the clip still works great. This might also be because I use this in the shower everyday
Kitsch Scrunchies Satin in Black and Blush

The first product I ever got from Kitsch was their Blush Pink Satin Scrunchies in 2021. These are super soft and great for making sure your ponytail or pigtails or not too tight. Having your hair tightly tied might look great, but it can cause more hair loss as it’s a lot of pressure on your hair. These scrunchies are much more gentle and high-quality. I have repurchased these because I ended up losing some. Overall, I use these every day and totally recommend them for everyday ponies if you have medium-length or long hair.
Pros:
- Comes in multiple colors
- Super soft
- Great for thick hair as well
- Comfy to wear on the wrist when you are not using it
Recommendation: A perfect solution for people who regularly wear ponytails, or braids
These are a daily staple for me. If you want to switch to gentler hair ties, use my 15% code directly on Kitsch. They’re available on Amazon too if you usually shop there. 🛍️
Would I Repurchase? Yes! And I already have!
Cons:
- They do stretch out eventually, but I have had these for years, so you get your money’s worth
Can I find Kitsch Scrunchies in different sizes and colors?
The Kitsch scrunchies are sold in different colors, but all scrunchies are the same size. You won’t need a bigger size if you have thick hair, as these are very flexible.
Kitsch Hair Oil

The Kitsch Rosemary Oil was super exciting for me to try, as I am someone who likes trying different hair oils. This was the first time I tried a hair oil with rosemary. It comes with a dropper to dispense the oil, and it smells nice. Biotin is an ingredient that is well known for hair growth, which this oil contains. I usually just use this on my hair instead of my scalp, as I have had dandruff in the past.
Recommendation: This is great for people looking to try an affordable hair oil
Would I Repurchase? Maybe, as I already own a lot of hair oils I need to pan through.
Kitsch Headband – Extra Wide Spa

When I first got this headband, I thought it was crazy because it’s super big! But after using it several times, I’ve grown to love the big size of this headband. This headband is great for anybody who has bangs or small pieces of hair that are just always on their face. Just put this on your head before you wash your face, and the headband will pull back all the hair that’s in the front. The big size of this headband makes it beneficial for people with longer hair, as it can pull back more hair than a shorter headband.
Pros:
- Soft and gentle
- Can hold up a lot of hair
Recommendation: If bangs get in the way when you wash your face or apply a face mask, then use this.
Would I Repurchase? Maybe, I don’t have bangs now and I don’t really do clay face masks these days.
Cons
- Can be difficult to store in small spaces due to its size
If face-washing headbands never stay put, this spa headband is worth trying with my 15% Kitsch discount. It’s also listed on Amazon if you need it sooner with Prime shipping. 🛍️
Kitsch Zig Zag Headband

I haven’t worn headbands since elementary school, but I was able to redeem this with points from my Kitsch account, so I thought I would try it. Unfortunately, I did not like this. I thought the look just wasn’t it. It would have been nicer if it had a regular flatband over the zig zag. And some fun pattern or design on the headband. But this is just my personal opinion, since I don’t usually wear a headband. I probably should have saved my points to redeem something else. On the bright side, this was made with recycled plastics.
Would I Repurchase? No, this product was not for me.
Kitsch Taming Wand

The taming wand is basically like a clear mascara gel. And the applicator is similar to a mascara as well. This is great for pushing away any small flyaways on top of your scalp or around your face. It will completely get rid of any frizz that you have on the sides of your hair. But it can help prevent flyaways from sticking out.
Pros:
- Works on any hair color
- Not super sticky
- Doesn’t make hair crunchy
Recommendation: If you have messy hair that can’t be tamed then give this a shot.
Would I Repurchase? Maybe, I still need to practice using this.
Cons:
- Similar to mascara packaging so it can be tricky to get extra product out of the tube
For smoothing flyaways without crunch, grab this taming wand on Kitsch’s site and apply my 15% discount. It’s also available on Amazon if that’s your go-to. 🛍️
Kitsch Exfoliating Body Dry Brush

I had a body dry brush from Sephora Collection that I purchased a long time ago. But I didn’t use it often as it was pretty intense, and I just didn’t love using it. I decided to use the Sephora one exclusively for my pedicures, and I wanted to try out the Kitsch Exfoliating Body dry brush for my legs. This was a lot softer than my previous dry brush, while still being exfoliating without any irritation. I use this on my legs before showering. The brush is made out of bamboo, which is super cool! And the shape is great because it’s big enough to use quickly across your body, but not too big. Can’t think of anything I don’t like about this!
Recommendation: Fabulous for people who want to upgrade their shower routine.
If you’re building a pre-shower routine, this body dry brush is one I’d purchase with my 15% Kitsch code. You can also shop Amazon if you’re buying other things. 🛍️

Kitsch Hair Brush Cleaner

This product is the only product I have seen designed to clean hair brushes. I have had this product since 2022. It’s actually best to clean your hair brush every 2 weeks, but most people don’t clean their hair brush at all. First, pull out as much hair from your brush as you can with your hand. Then, you use this hair brush cleaner to reach for the hair at the base of the hair brush. This is a part that you can’t easily reach with your hand, as it is stuck to the bottom. The sharp part on the other side is great for removing little fuzz that you have on your hair brush or reaching for individual strands of hair. When I first used this tool, it made me realize how gross my hair brushes actually were! 🤢 There was a ton of hair and fuzz stuck in there that I was able to get out. Overall, I love this, and people need to get this to maintain their hair brushes better. Here’s a video of me using the Kitsch Hair Brush Cleaner.
Recommendation: Everyone needs to clean their hair brushes, so if you have medium or long hair please try this!
This is one of those underrated tools. Use my Kitsch Hair Brush Cleaner’s 15% discount on Kitsch’s site if you’re adding it to your routine. Or find it on Amazon if that’s easier. 🛍️

Kitsch Spa Socks

If you want to seal in moisture from a pedicure cream, but also want to paint your nails at the same time then try these spa socks. These spa socks are open-toe, so you can lock in moisture from a foot cream and paint your toes at the same time. The open-toe feeling takes some getting used to for first-time users. I normally sit when I’m wearing these, as walking with open toe socks can feel kind of funny.
Recommendation: Try this if you love doing your pedicures at home.
If you do at-home pedicures, these spa socks can be tried with my 15% Kitsch discount. 🛍️

Kitsch Spray Bottle

This version of the spray bottle is no longer sold, but they redesigned the spray bottle. The spray bottle is great if you cut your own hair. I don’t cut my hair at home, but my mom cuts her hair and my dad’s. She enjoys using the spray bottle. I also use this when I’m using the Heatless Curls to dampen my hair a bit. It’s a pretty standard spray bottle, so if you don’t own a spray bottle and need one then you can try this out.
Recommendation: This is for the DIY hairstylists at home.
Would I Repurchase? Yes! I’m considering trying their newer version of the spray bottle.
Kitsch Review
That’s my Kitsch review! I did a pros and cons for most products because I wanted to include every possible perspective of each product. However, I still use most of these products a lot! My top three most used every day are the Satin Pillowcase, Satin Scrunchies, and the metal claw clip. I hope this post was helpful, and you can use my discount on any Kitsch product that interests you! 🛍️ COMING SOON: A YouTube video featuring how I use Kitsch products, subscribe to stay updated to my YouTube channel. Is Kitsch a good brand?
Yes, Kitsch is a reputable haircare and accessories brand known for affordable satin products, sustainable shampoo bars, and more hair products. Based on my experience using multiple products since 2021, most items are high quality for the price, especially their satin pillowcases and metal claw clips. I have also virtually seen the founder at an event, and she is very friendly and passionate about building great products! 😊
How do Kitsch hair products compare to other brands in terms of quality?
I feel like Kitsch is the only brand out there that is well rounded when it comes to their hair products. And this is because they take into consideration every aspect of hair. This starts from treatments, wash days, styling, and before you go to bed. Most hair care brands are just focused on wash days, treatments, and maybe styling. But Kitsch is the only brand I know that also focuses on accessories like scrunchies throughout the day and night.
